# 46

Bourgeois brilliance you Shanty town Shakespeare kick in the door and meet the Roughneck Revolutionary and his street soliders.  Prepare to ride to strike a crippling blow. No antiseptic for this wound. Hit the artery black blood lifeline severed just below the neck white oval eyes flicker shut and bright starry dreams end

Poem 2

Look at the guy with the methamphetamine eyes; standing on the corner; scratching at the bugs that cover his skin; will never be still again; loose skin and creaky bones move down the road to the nearest fix;
Funny the ways in which we kill our$evles
Heroin mom lay on the floor; without a care while her son stands in the cold outside the front door; because mom was sick and need to be alone.
Silly the way we kill ourselves
Depressed young man loads his father’s gun; the race has begun; it’s time for him to run
L the way we kill ourselves

Moon Light

Moon light
Moon bright
Moon sits in the sky at night
As if to say
A brand new day
Is only a night away

Manifestation

My mind is my weapon; more powerful than the gun, quicker than the bullet, more potent than nerve gas, more devastating than a nuclear bomb, and will bare more fruit than the most fertile ground.
My mind can conquer the powerful regime, and liberated the most oppressed.  My mind is more vital to my existence than food or water, more essential than air.
My mind is why I am capable of the extraordinary, the impossible, with my mind anything can be accomplished and as long as my mind is mine, I am amazing.

The Air That Night

Ding, ding, ding, the car door alarm sounded in the night, I pulled out the keys and all I could hear was the sound of water trickling on rocks.  The damp and warm air hung heavily all around us. Tonight was one of the first nights of June and summer was in full gear. She grabbed my hand and said gently “come on,” we walked through the darkness and stood in an enclosed rock formation almost like a cave.  A tall old birch tree towered over us creating a ceiling of black leaves and water fell all around.  The sunny day had become a dark night so dark we could hardly see.  “Ready?” she asked, “I was born ready” I responded with a smile.
Before I go any farther we must go back in time a few hours or so.  I had just woken up from a nap and wiping the crust out of my eyes I looked at the clock over the bedroom door.  The clock hands pointed to 11:30 at night I had slept though most of the evening.  I turned back over my left shoulder to see if my girlfriend Kate was still asleep.
I thought about waking her to see if she wanted some dinner sense we had passed out as soon as we got home from work at around 6.  I decided against waking her.  She looked so happy and peaceful I didn’t want to take that away.  I rolled out of bed as quiet as I could and went up the old stairs of the two story bread box house.
I hated those stairs, they were steep and every one of them squeaked.  I walked in to the undersized kitchen to see what there was to eat.  Nothing, there never was anything, except cheese, pepper jack cheese; we always had pepper jack cheese.  I grabbed the block of the yellowish cheese with spots of mold, turned around and instantly confronted by a surprising hug from Kate.
“What you making?”  Kate asked while she played with her hair trying to get it under control. “Just a slice of cheese, want some?”  I responded quietly.  Kate stared with her sleepy brown eyes at the spots of mold on the yellowish cheese gripped in my hand and then said “Yep.”
I cut off the mold then cut a few slices and we moved to the couch to eat.  After our dinner of moldy cheese I began to feel more awake.  “Are you tiered?” Kate asked.  “Not really.”  I said as I gazed out the window.  The sun had just set and the light had changed from the gold light of evening and the sunset to the dark blue light right before all light leaves and night falls.
“We should do something.”  Kate whispered while still smiling at the same time.  She always smiled when she talked to me.  “Alright, like what?”  I replied.  “Want to rent a movie?” She said sounding a little desperate.  She was starting to get restless and me, I was complacent enough to do whatever she suggested “Sounds good,” I said lacking any real emotion.
We walked down those damn stairs put on our shoes and out the door we went.  While we walked to the car I looked up at the sky which had begun to turn to a deep dark blue, and the trees looked like black shadows towering above us.  Then it hit me I knew what we were going to do.
A few minutes into the car ride Kate asked, “where are we going.”  “Some where I have always wanted to stop but never have.”  “Where’s that?”  She asked.  “Up the road about 15 minutes.”  I answered trying to sound mysterious.
I became so entranced with the drive I almost drove past our destination.  The car ride was quite, relaxing, put us in a Zen state.  Slowing to a stop we pulled off the road and parked the car.  We sat in the car for a moment quietly staring out the windshield at what lay in front of us.  Breaking the silence Kate said “Waterfalls clean the soul.  If you stick your head under, it will wash away all the negative energy.”  “I don’t like being wet,” I said softly, “but I’ll do stick my head under if you do it with me.”
We had stopped at a pull off on the side of the highway.  The pull off was in a rock formation that formed a shallow cave in the side of the mountain.  The only light came from the car and when we got out and shut the doors… blackness all around.  No moon, barely any light, the only thing guiding me was Kate’s soft hand.  We walked through the blue-blackness toward the sound of water dribbling onto the rock floor.
I’ll never forget the air that night; heavy and warm but there also was this coldness that was present.  No wind, the air did not move, but still, in my face was a mysterious cold that seemed to come from nowhere yet be everywhere.  Kate’s soft warm hand still squeezed mine holding on tight so there could be no chance we could lose each other.
The night was deafeningly quiet so quiet that even the sound of the trickling water was muffled by the silence.  Never in my life have I heard anything so quiet.  All noise seemed to die that night.
As we got close to the water I could start to feel the splatter on my face.  Every little droplet of mist that landed sent a chill through the both of us.  I could feel the hair on my arms stiffen; goose bumps appeared up and down my arms.  We stopped right in front of the falling water.  Turned to face one another and stepped under the water.
A cold rush fell on me, I squirmed trying not the break the silence but I stood not chance against the cold water.  “Wow, that’s cold.”  I said as gently as I could.  “Doesn’t it feel great?”  She asked rhetorically.  The funny thing is even though I hated being wet the water running over me did feel good.  Landing with every drop of water was a feeling like everything would be alright.
We walked back to the car still holding hands, still dripping wet, still barely able to see in the dark blue-black air.  I will never forget that feeling that burned brightly radiating outward from my soul, that unforgettable feeling, true bliss, pure contentment, undeniable happiness.
